Our story

Why we built Wanderkin

We're Tai and Tina, a married lesbian couple based in London. We built Wanderkin because we kept running into the same problem: every time one of us traveled solo, finding queer community in a new city was either impossible or required days of trial and error.

The technology to fix that has existed for years. Nobody built it for us. So we did.

How does verification work?

Everyone completes a selfie check before they can message someone, post, or join a meetup. It helps everyone know there is a real person behind each profile.

Does Wanderkin show my exact location?

No. Wanderkin does not use GPS tracking, background location access, or live location sharing. Other people only see the current city or trip city you enter and choose to make visible.

Do I need to be traveling to use it?

No. You can browse the city feed for anywhere you are curious about. To join a meetup, you need an eligible trip or current city.

How much does Wanderkin cost?

Wanderkin Premium starts from $0.96 per week. The App Store shows the current price in your currency before you confirm anything.

Is Wanderkin on Android?

Wanderkin is currently available on iPhone only, through the App Store.
